Warwick Villas, Egham

The brief for this project in Egham Surrey was to create a new bedroom by way of converting the loft space of the house. 

​

In order to achieve suitable floor area the existing roof had to be removed and changed from a hip end roof to a gable end. Our carpenters cut the new rafters and installed the new floor joists in preparation. Once all the roof tiles had been carefully removed and set aside for re-use, the old timber roof was removed and the new gable end structure erected in one day.

In order to minimise upheaval for the clients, the team at Ascot Build & Design pushed the project forward as far as possible only accessing the loft conversion via external scaffolding. The underside of the stairs has been turned into a very useful airing cupboard housing the existing mega-flow cylinder. 

​

Externally the original roof tiles were matched and great care was taken to match the aggregate of the original pebble dashing to help the new extension blend with the original building.
